Cricket For Tourism!!

With the arrival of Nepal Tourism Year 2011, many programs have been planned to promote tourism at large but here’s a unique event that also aims to encourage domestic tourism. It’s Ncell Beach Cricket 2011 that is being organized in association with Shangri-la Cricket Academy. And endorsing the cause as the honorable Goodwill Ambassador is Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala.

A fun tournament of its own kind, Ncell Beach Cricket 2011 will be held from 25th February, 2011 to 5th March, 2011 at Riverside Springs Resort, Kurintar. It will see top level executives play along with various political leaders and young parliamentarians in teams of thirty six including at least one female member. The teams are further categorized into two: Inter Organization and Inter Bank. Inter Organization tournaments will take place on 25th and 26th February while the friendly clash between the banks will happen on 4th and 5th March. After all the strenuous matches, participants will later get to enjoy a Caribbean pool party with 70s theme to lighten up their moods and kill their exhaustion. The overall goal of the event – to create harmony among the participants.

The happening of Ncell Beach Cricket 2011 was announced on 12th January at a press conference held at Radisson Hotel where were present Koirala, Director of Shangri-La Cricket Academy Aamir Akhtar, and Ncell Chief Commercial Officer Mansur Khamidov. Speaking on the soon to take place festival, Koirala said, “I am thrilled to be a part of this sporting event. I sincerely believe that such events play a vital role to promote sporting activities along with internal tourism.”
